The Newfoundland and Labrador Conservation Data Centre (NL CDC) is part of the Atlantic Canada Conservation Data Centre (Atlantic CDC), which currently supports the Corner Brook node in a cost sharing agreement with the Wildlife Division (WD). The NL CDC provides services to Newfoundland and Labrador clients and manages the Wildlife Division's endangered species databases. Both the NL CDC and the Atlantic CDC are part of NatureServe.
This site provides general information about species and ecological communities of conservation concern, including those at risk. Those unfamiliar with the CDC's approach may want to review the information presented in "About Our Data" before proceeding to "Data Products". "Data Products" provides specific information about species and communities.
The best conservation related answers come from combining data, expertise, and field-study. To ensure that data are interpreted correctly, you should contact our data managers and staff specialists. You will, however, be charged for the time required to complete most data requests. Emailed requests, for Newfoundland & Labrador should be sent to Adam Durocher, while those for the Maritimes, should be sent to Stefen Gerriets. To avoid confusion, requests should have "ACCDC DATA REQUEST (place, province)" as the subject line. (See Data Products for more information.)
