Data Requests

*Please note that effective January 1, 2026, we will be increasing our data request fees for the first time in fifteen years, to cover the effects of inflation on labour and overhead costs. We thank you for your understanding.

Fees as of January 1st, 2026:

Standard request for species of conservation concern

  • Area coverage = 5 km radius around a point location
  • Cost: $200
  • Processing time: ≤ 10 business days

Non-standard request for species of conservation concern

  • Area coverage = Any area different from standard request
  • Cost: $1 per km2 (Minimum $300); Up to a maximum of $2,000 for all of PEI; $10,000 for all of NB, NS, or NL; or $15,000 for all of NB, NS, and PEI.
  • Processing time: ≤ 10 business days

Requests requiring all species in addition to species of conservation concern

  • Area coverage = Any area
  • Cost: $100 additional to above fees
  • Processing time: ≤ 10 business days

Requests requiring ASAP turnaround

  • Area coverage = Any area
  • Cost: 75% premium surcharge to above fees
  • Processing time: ≤ 2 business days

Custom biodiversity or GIS analysis and reporting

  • Area coverage = Any area
  • Cost: Determined based on labour required
  • Processing time: Determined based on labour required

Please note that our business days are Mon - Fri, statutory holidays and December 27-31 excepted

A standard data request includes:

 1) Detailed observation data for all species of conservation concern known within 5 km of your area of interest    (excepting a very few location-sensitive species for which location data could lead to illegal exploitation)
  2) A list of location sensitive species of conservation concern known within 5 km of your area of interest
  3) A list of all species of conservation concern known within 100 km of your area of interest
  4) Information on protected and other managed natural areas within 5 km of your area of interest
  5) Information on freshwater and marine fish, waterfowl, pelagic and colonial birds and marine mammals from    databases separate from the main AC CDC database.

Please include the following information:
-ContactName Title Address Telephone Email (Website)
-Job or P.O. number for invoicing
-Study area: Name of nearest town or landscape feature
-Project: e.g. "culvert replacement", "commercial development"
-Map (jpg) AND Geocoordinates separated by comma:
